Genetic Racism? A Neanderthal Hypothesis
From The Guardian 11/14/2021: "Try, try and try again: why did modern
humans take so long to settle in
Europe?"
... Genetic studies have made it clear that interbreeding between Homo sapiens and Neanderthals occurred many times. As a result, men and women of non-African origin today have genomes that are around 2% Neanderthal....
Could the rest of the world's hostility toward Africans be the expression of the Neanderthal genes present in non-Africans?
Neanderthals and Sapiens coexisted in Africa; both evolved there.
SPECULATION:
What if the two races were at odd with each other, competing for land and other resources while they were in Africa, and the Neanderthals left Africa to escape that competition in Europe?
What if there are genetic predispositions in the Neanderthal genome that give rise to hostility when Neanderthals meet Sapiens -- the way that baby animals are afraid of snakes. Such predispositions may not overwhelm the desire for sex, but are strong enough to manifest themselves in competitive situations.
Or it could be that a genetic predisposition arises when Neanderthal and Sapiens genomes mix.
Thus could arise a genetically based predisposition for hostility (in its systematic for, racism) of non-Africans toward Africans, since Africans do not carry the Neanderthal genome.
Thus, the racist "Replacement Theory" is in a sense the Neanderthal part of their genome "reacting" to the possibility that their genome will be further diminished by miscegenation.
Suggesting that it is the Neanderthal part of the Sapiens brain that is being racist. The racist fears that, like his pedecessors, his inner Neanderthal will be replaced by Sapiens who drove his Neanderthal ancestors to extinction.
