Humans

Society is comprised both individuals and organizations of individuals.

People have learned that it is sometimes better if people work cooperatively to achieve a goal rather than if people seek to achieve that goal through their idiosyncratic methods -- because people have found that by working toward a goal as isolated individuals, people often find that they are working at cross purposes to the detriment of their common goal.

People must be taught to work cooperatively because they start life necessarily focusing on and pursing their own individual needs in order to survive.

Part of maturing is learning to accommodate the needs, wants, opinions of others into something that is collectively satisfying to all the members of the group.

Humans have evolved as social animals and so the ability to accommodate is part of that evolution.  But the ability to accommodate leaves open the possibility that  accommodation can be one-sided.

This possibility of one-sided accommodation is further enabled because humans are to some extent hierarchical.  Thus, an aspect or sign of rising in the hierarchy is the number of people who are willing to accommodate the person seeking status in the hierarchy.

One can gain compliance by intimidation or fear, persuasion or seduction, promises to fulfill the other's desires or solve their problems.

Neo-Liberalism is the philosophy with an ethical standard that holds that:
1.   Greed is good.
2.   The individual is the only standard by which to judge the good.
3.   That the needs and wants of an individual have precedence over the needs and wants of all other individuals.
4.   That compromise to achieve equity among all parties is evil.
5.
