Voter Supression
Apparently, as a result of DT's election loss, numerous bills are being filed in Republican-controlled state houses, to make voting more difficult, especially for poor people. While people correctly point out that this disproportionately affects minority communities who tend to vote Democrat, these restrictions will probably have a greater numerical effect on Republican communities who are poor -- assuming that Republicans do nothing to organize their low-inome base.
The next round of Democrat voter organizing should then be a more intensive and intimate effort to help their constituencies to obtain the required documents to qualified to vote under these restrained and limiting conditions.
This can be good thing for grass-roots organizing as this will give organizers an additional opportunity to have personal contact with people, provide them with a material service that they can offer (help with procuring documents), and additional educational opportunities for community education.
